About this ebook

In this first volume of the critically acclaimed ZERO YEAR storyline, the #1 New York Times bestselling creative team of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo present an astonishing new vision of the Dark Knight's origin—and his first encounters with the Riddler, the Red Hood, and others!

Before the era of superheroes began—before the Batman spread his wings to protect the innocent and punish evil—Gotham City's prodigal son, Bruce Wayne, had been missing for years. But this was exactly the cover of darkness Bruce needed. Patrolling Gotham's streets, in a series of disguises, he began a career as a faceless vigilante.

Collects BATMAN issues #21-#24.

A superb retelling of the Batman mythos. The origins of why Bruce Wayne became the Bat, how Jim Gordon associates himself with a vigilante, and how the red hood has a tight grip of power on practically everything, this introduction to a new saga does not disappoint whatsoever.

Good read.. you get an idea of Bruce's convictions as well as the introduction of one of the greatest villains of all time-the Joker.... Maybe delving into the Kane's family history would have given this comic more shape.

Although this book isn't Scott's best work, it's still fun and a great entry point to zero year pt 2 and endgame.
