About this ebook

A NEW YORK TIMES #1 bestseller! In "The Black Mirror," a series of brutal murders pushes Batman's detective skills to the limit and forces him to confront one of Gotham City's oldest evils. Helpless and trapped in the deadly Mirror House, Batman must fight for his life against one of Gotham City's oldest and most powerful evils! Then, in a second story called "Hungry City," the corpse of a killer whale shows up on the floor of one of Gotham City's foremost banks. The event begins a strange and deadly mystery that will bring Batman face-to-face with the new, terrifying faces of organized crime in Gotham.

Ok why does this Batman look like a bad cosplay? The art style was kind of basic for sure. This Batman is fairly ineffectual in his own story. Near the end it became a frustrating read. To point I skipped quickly through the last ten pages. Well as I didn't care how it ended anymore.

the black mirror has little to do with the majority of the story. this is a VERY dark batman story, which is somewhat surprising seeing as how it takes place during Dick Grayson's time under the cowl. but if you're looking for a good mystery story and want some more Gordon family history then this story is for you

This is my favorite Batman comic. It has incredible dark elements that Snyder explores to force the reader to face the darker elements of humanity and themselves. It also delves into the concept of family and what we are, and aren't, willing to do for our families (adopted or real) and how that drives or destroys us. The artwork is also beautiful, if you can call some of the things in this comic "beautiful." Truly, I've read the Dark Knight Returns, Year One, The Killing Joke, Year One, etc., but only this comic made me disturbed for hours after reading.
