The reason for this 3 star rating is NOT because of the story; in that aspect, the story "BATMAN: THE COURT OF OWLS SAGA" is a 5 star rating! I purchased this as a ebook/ecomic & some of the pages were UPSIDE DOWN & SIDEWAYS when it shouldn't be. It was frustrating & hard to read so I had to end up having to screenshot the messed up pages before going on. That's my ONLY complaint, which has NOTHING to do with the story!

While the idea of a secret society of powerful Gotham families bending the city from the shadows (or with powerful assassins) makes for a thrilling Batman page turner; I... don't know about this version of Bruce/Batman (for me). Bruce is either in love with the city and/or trying to live up to his parents ambitions for what the city could be (IDK). But whatever he's doing here, it's certainly not about protecting/helping the people of Gotham. Also, Batman is umm... superhuman or something in this book. For instance, he's stabbed a LOT, falls from a 747 and uses a grappling hook to basically crash into a building to save his life, fights off some weird drug hallucination, gets stabbed some more, and is still able to take on an army of Talons (plus a super Talon) all in what seems like a week or so. WTH! I realize this is a fictional character, but geez... isn't he also supposed to be... human. IDK, it was a fun read, but for me it doesn't hold a candle to 'The Long Halloween'.
