What can I say? I didn't see how this book could be all that, buuuuuut, it was all that with 2 hoe-hoes (that get theirs). I was so surprised throughout the book with all of the twists and turns that Susan threw in there. Just as I would see where it was going, the woman just zagged (when I thought she was zigging). Clear through to the end, this book is like that. I was hooked early on in Chapter 2. This is a wonderful book and a stellar read!!

Alabama had tears in my eyes for most of her story, she just resonated with my heart from the start. How could she not? Such a powerful start to the story, and then that slow, happy build, only to have it all betrayed. I’m not sure Abe saved Alabama as much as built her up and then destroyed her, but his teammates definitely stepped in and did the saving when needed. Lucky for him, he had laid enough groundwork, she was willing to try with him again!
