--Books and Movie Reviews, Roberto Mattos

This bundle includes the next three books in Morgan Rice’s #1 Bestselling fantasy series THE SORCERER’S RING (A CRY OF HONOR, A VOW OF GLORY and A CHARGE OF VALOR). These three bestselling novels are all here in one convenient file and offer a great next step deeper into the world of the SORCERER’S RING series. Over 200,000 words of reading, all for an incredible price! It is a great deal, and it also makes the perfect gift!

THE SORCERER’S RING series tells the epic tale of the coming of age of Thorgrin, a special 14 year old boy, the least loved of his father, as he strives to become a warrior in the magical Kingdom of the Ring, and as he learns he has powers, and a destiny, he does not understand. An outsider, he must fight for acceptance as he strives to join the King’s elite Legion, and as he falls in love with the king’s 16 year old daughter. Most of all, he must learn who he really is, why his destiny is so important, and why the entire fate of The Ring depends on him.

In Books #4, #5 and #6, the tale continues. In A CRY OF HONOR (Book #4 in the Sorcerer's Ring), Thor has returned from The Hundred as a hardened warrior, and now he must learn what it means to battle for his homeland, to battle for life and death. The McClouds have raided deep into MacGil territory—deeper than ever before in the history of the Ring—and as Thor rides into an ambush, it will fall on his head to fend off the attack and save King’s Court.

In A VOW OF GLORY (Book #5 in the Sorcerer's Ring), Thor embarks with his Legion friends on an epic quest into the vast wilds of the Empire to try to find the ancient Destiny Sword and save the Ring. Thor’s friendships deepen, as they journey to new places, face unexpected monsters and fight side by side in unimaginable battle. They encounter exotic lands, creatures and peoples beyond which they could have ever imagined, each step of their journey fraught with increasing danger. They will have to summon all their skills if they are to survive as they follow the trail of the thieves, deeper and deeper into the Empire. Their quest will bring them all the way into the heart of the Underworld, one of the seven realms of hell, where the undead rule and fields are lined with bones. As Thor must summon his powers, more than ever, he struggles to understand the nature of who he is.

In A CHARGE OF VALOR (Book #6 in the Sorcerer's Ring), Thor continues on his quest, deeper into the Empire, to retrieve the stolen Destiny Sword and save the Ring. As he and his friends meet unexpected tragedy and lose a member of their close-knit group, Thor and his remaining friends become closer than they ever were, learning that they must face and overcome adversity together. Their journey takes them to new and exotic terrains, including the desolate Salt Fields, the Great Tunnel, and the Mountains of Fire, as they face a host of unexpected monsters at every turn.

With its sophisticated world-building and characterization, THE SORCERER’S RING is an epic tale of friends and lovers, of rivals and suitors, of knights and dragons, of intrigues and political machinations, of coming of age, of broken hearts, of deception, ambition and betrayal. It is a tale of honor and courage, of fate and destiny, of sorcery. It is a fantasy that brings us into a world we will never forget, and which will appeal to all ages and genders.

Books 1, 2, and 3 are good and set the scene for an interesting story. However Books 4, 5, and 6 are noticably more childlike in both tone and wording. Dont get me wrong, the premise is great. However, the author shows no care or due diligence to the story, and the writing deteriorates considerably at the story goes on. I am not sure if this series is Young Adult Fiction or not, but even youngsters would notice the poor grammar and non existent proof reading. For some reason the author has characters 'screaming'. I found this word was over used and, in some cases, not used appropriately. For example the big burly Knights who are proud and honourable warriors, scream at just about everything. I would suggest Knights "Roar" or "Bellow" or "Thunder", screaming knights really detracts from the character developement of the knights being everything a knight should be. In fact, all characters 'scream' throughout the whole story, including Krohn. I did smile at first because I found this quite comical however by book 4 it was an annoyance. I feel the author rushed to get this work finish the writing deteriorated noticeably and the numerous grammar errors were a constant distraction. I would suggest parts of these novels were not proof read at all and at one point the author mentioned the wrong character completely. This is a good story(perhaps a little like Game of Thrones meets Star Wars) and if you can get past the poor writing, grammatical errors and non existent proof reading its a good read, if grammar and proof reading are important to you, dont bother, its not worth the aggravation.

I love the plot the author obviously has an amazing imagination and the whole world is amazing, but the amount of plot armor every pivotal character has is beyond frustrating. the amount of times the author has ended a chapter with a character "dying" only to be saved in the next chapter is very annoying. At this point I'm not worried about any situation where the characters are thrown in because I know they will miraculously ecscape. There is also a lot of showing instead of telling and I feel like it makes every character that isn't followed in the story frequently feel very hollow(spoiler) which causes the only real death to not feel comsequental (spoiler ends). There are a few characters that are fleshed out pretty well such as Gwendolyn's mother and Stephan. I honestly feel as if the only two deaths I would care about besides characters that are followed frequently are Stephen and Reece although I would be happy that something happened in the story other than the plot moving

I'm finishing this series because I started it and now I feel obligated. However, once it's finally finished, I'll never read another Morgan Rice piece of junk. I cannot stress just how dreadful the grammar and punctuation are. It ruins the books. This author doesn't even seem to have a firm grasp on vocabulary, so spelling and punctuation seem to be an impossible feat. Words are used incorrectly and themes are revisited over and over and over and over and over again. Guess what, Morgan! "Indefensible" means "cannot be defended," not "heavily or easily defended." The word you're looking for is "invincible" or "impenetrable." Pay for a proof reader and stop ripping people off. I've reached the end of my patience and I'm not even defending your plots and original ideas anymore...they're indefensible at this point!
