I love a good second chance romance. This one fit the bill. Zev and Carly had me hooked right from the beginning. There is a lot of hurt to overcome, but you can tell these two still have a connection no one can break. I was rooting for these two to get their HEA they've been waiting for. I loved watching these two find their path they thought was forever out of reach. It has plenty of heart, laughs, and chemistry between the characters. I always look forward to a book in this series because I love the families. I love the banter, but how close they are. It always makes my heart happy. My romantic heart was happy sighing with how everything worked out for Zev and Carly.

Zev Braden has loved Carly Dylan nearly his whole life, and in order to preserve that love he made a huge decision. He left her to follow their dream, he did this when she was at her most vulnerable. They were both hurting, and instead of staying and working through their problems he made a spur of the moment decision for them both, a decision that impacted them both, and most definitely not in a good way. A wonderful story, with great characters, an addictive storyline and zero angst. Carly had such a strong personality, she knew what she was doing with her life, it was the exact opposite of her original plan. A plan she mapped out with Zeb, who she’d put firmly in her rear view mirror. Never going down that road again, Zeb however had different plans, and so it seemed did their friends. I love a good romance, and Searching for Love was just that. Sweet, romantic and sexy. Highly enjoyable, and very addictive.

I”m giving this 4 stars simply because of the second half. I did enjoy the book, but I struggled to get into it until about halfway through. At that point the story really picked up for me as Zev and Carly started their “new” romance. Since this is a second chance romance mixed with a childhood friends/sweethearts story there’s a history behind them. A history that has a lot of hurt. My heart broke for them as they navigated their emotions and talked about what happened back then. But then! Oh then we get to the good stuff and boy was it hot and fun. Cliff diving was just the beginning. Literally. It was the jumping off point in many ways for them as Zevy/Carls 2.0. Their love grows and blossoms from where it had been when they were young. They bring a lot of their old “things” (like the pictures and sugary cereal), but in a good way that shows who they really are together. Not only did my heart break for them, but I felt so happy when they were in the midst of getting their HEA and the big declaration/moment happened. There’s other fun stuff with the minor characters too, including the dog Bandit.
