This is a captivating story that will appeal to all romance lovers, I was drawn in to Grant Silver and Jules Steele’s story from the first chapter and there was no putting down until I had read the final line. Two survivors who have faced death come together in this wonderful story, Ms Foster knows how to give us characters to fall in love with, she is never afraid to show her characters strengths as well as their vulnerabilities and in My True Love we see both sides of Jules and Grant. Grant returns home to Silver Island with his military career over, he is bitter and is struggling to cope with the community he grew up in welcoming home with open arms, she feels like he doesn’t deserve the welcome they seem intent on giving him.... Jules has fought cancer and won, she is grateful for every morning she wakes up and she is determined to make the most of everyday so can this strong, determined woman show Grant that life really is worth living, that the more we put into ours lives the more we will get out of it but more importantly his life is not over . Her kindness is something Grant struggles with but she slowly chips away at the walls he has built around himself and she brings light and happiness to a man determined to live alone. My True Love touched me on so many levels, it’s a beautifully written love story about two damaged souls learning to get strength from each other and it’s a heartfelt romance that will stay with me long after this review is written. Another wonderful romance from the very talented Ms Foster.

Rating: 4.5 Stars Bellamy has some interesting friends. The author will get you laughing before the first chapter is done. So, make sure to clear your calendar just to be on the safe side. You’ll want to get comfortable and not put this down until the last word is read. Jules wants what she wants in order to make someone happy. How she goes about it is another laughable moment. Our author makes the comedic moments seem as if they come so easy to her. Grant is a man who served his country well. Ms. Foster does a great job in showing the reader how frustrated he is about the hand he has been dealt. There is a scene where Jules is at the beach and she seems to have an epiphany about the setting – and I feel the exact same way. Our author is very smart at using the little things for the reader to connect to. Even though you may have some tough things going on in your life, family and/or friends may be there to lift you up. This was a great book on so many levels. It checks off all the boxes for romance in general. But then you can include military, disability, rom-com and small town. If you enjoy the holidays, you’re even given a little bit of that. And if there was a category for frustrating males, this would be at the very top. If you’re a fan of the holiday Hallmark movies, this would be a perfect fit. But maybe keep a tissue close by. I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. This is thirty-three year old, US Special Forces vet Grant Silver, and twenty-five year old, store owner Jules Steele’s story line. MY TRUE LOVE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. Told from dual third person perspectives (Grant and Jules) MY TRUE LOVE follows the friends to lovers relationship between thirty-three year old, former US Special Forces soldier Grant Silver, and twenty-five year old, store owner Jules Steele. Grant Silver has been struggling for a very long time since the implosion of his parent’s relationship, and his recent discharge from the US army following an IED explosion that resulted in the loss of his lower left leg. Unable to settle, Grant remains secluded away from everyone including family and friends, friends like store owner Jules Steele, a young woman whose has loved Grant for most of her life. As Grant continues to struggle with the upcoming holidays, Jules pushes our hero to move on with his life, a life she hopes will include their own happily ever after but Grant continues to battle to the demons from his past, and the possibility that he is no longer a viable member of society. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Grant and Jules, and the potential fall-out as Grant feels lost without the next mission, and his time with Jules may only be a temporary hold-over until something else may come along. Jules Steele is a spunky, quirky, cheerful idealist and optimistic person that finds the positive in everything and everyone including Grant Silver. Unable to stand back and watch Grant spiral out of control, Jules begins a campaign of ‘signs’ in the hopes of pushing Grant back together with family, in an effort to prove that everyone deserves love and a happily ever after. Grant Silver battles between head and heart believing he is unworthy of our story line heroine. Struggling with his family’s unconventional dynamics, Grant is biding his time until he is able to move away from Silver Island, and the family legacy that continues to haunt but Grant will be blind sided when the truth is revealed, a truth that will change his perspective going forward. The relationship between Grant and Jules is a friends to lovers, a relationship in which Grant struggles. Believing himself unworthy of Jules love, Grant continues push away our story line heroine until he realizes that Jules is the woman that calls to his heart. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including both immediate and extended families for both the Silvers and the Steeles; Grant’s siblings Fitz, Bellamy, Keira, and Wells, and their parents Margot and Alexander; Jules’ siblings Archer, Jock, Levi, and Leni, their parents Shelley and Steve, and grandmother Lenore. MY TRUE LOVE is a story of family and relationships, loss, struggle and acceptance, friendships and love. The premise is emotional and real; the romance is seductive and intimate; the characters are playful and protective. MY TRUE LOVE is a wonderful and uplifting story.
