***5 ‘Heartbeat’ Stars*** So hard NOT to love this book. The romance was all kinds of swoon worthy goodness and the plethora of characters that brought this world to life had me wishing there were more words to read because I simply wanted to hang out with each and everyone of them more. I adored Justin and Chloe. You have two people who have had rough childhoods, and still bear the scars of it, but have found the strength to overcome them. Both have huge hearts and are simply good people who are loyal and protective of those they call their own. Their journey to their HEA was a lot of fun. It was slow burn...really slow burn, but once they got on the same page, they definitely made up for lost time. I loved watching them get to know each other and how it only strengthened the connection between them. Their bantering was a lot of fun and the chemistry between them was HAWT. While there wasn’t a lot of angsty-ness going on between them, they both have their own obstacles to work through and I really liked how it made them stronger as a couple and individuals, and also made their HEA that much sweeter. This book definitely packed a punch in a lot of ways. From the unique cast of characters, to the issues that Justin and Chloe faced in the book. As for those issues, some may be triggered by them, but the author handled them with respect and they were important to understand the characters and their growth in the book. I als have to admit that I was a bit concerned that I wouldn’t love the Wickeds as much as I love the Whiskeys, but that concern was totally obliterated within the first few chapters. The family vibe is just as strong and all of the Dark Knights and those they call friends were awesome, so awesome that it makes it hard for me to pick a favorite out of the bunch because they are all so unique, so alls I can say is, bring on the next Wicked! ~ Copy provided by the author & voluntarily reviewed ~

This is biker/ sculptor Justin ‘Maverick’ Wicked, and twenty-nine year old, director of the assisted living facility Chloe Mallery’s story line. A LITTLE BIT WICKED and The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside is a spin off from the author’s Bayside Summers, The Whiskeys, and its’ numerous franchises. NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers. Told from dual third person perspectives (Justin and Chloe) A LITTLE BIT WICKED follows the friends to lovers relationship between is biker/ sculptor Justin Wicked, and twenty-nine year old, director of the assisted living facility Chloe Mallery. Justin Wicked has lusted after Chloe Mallery since the day they first met but Chloe continues to place Justin in the ‘friend zone’ until a late night heart to heart reveals a similar past of heart break and pain. As Chloe and Justin’s relationship crosses into the area of romance and love, our couple find themselves pulled into the family, friendships and growing relationships of the people in Bayside, and the protective bubble of the Dark Knights MC but all is not well on the flipside for our story line couple as they both struggle with demons from the past. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Chloe and Justin, and the potential fall-out as Chloe finds herself with some unwanted attention that threatens her safety, and peace of mind. Justin Wicked is the adopted son of Rob ‘Preacher’ and Reba Wicked but a past mired in abuse and the darkened memories of a time long ago often find Justin lost in his head with guilt and grief about was and what will never be. There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including all of the couples we met in the Bayside Summers series as well as Chloe’s sister Serena and her husband Drake; Justin’s parents Preacher and Reba, his sister Madigan, and brothers Blaine, Zeke and Zander, and cousins Tank and Dwayne Wicked. Tank and Leah’s story is next in The Wicked Aftermath. The world building is detailed, descriptive and engaging but a little bit darker than most of the author’s previous series. I am a big fan of the darker romances-the conflict, the vulnerability and the anxious moments all leading to a requisite happily ever after. A LITTLE BIT WICKED is a story of family, friendships, betrayal and love. The premise is captivating, compelling and encouraging; the romance is seductive and erotic; the characters are dynamic, charismatic and animated…but I did have one complaint and it was the 137 times the author used ‘baby’ and 52 times the use of the word ‘babe’-at one point I thought Justin had forgotten our heroine’s name. Definitely something to think about for future stories, editors and proof readers. A LITTLE BIT WICKED is a wonderful, tenacious and emotionally satisfying introduction to THE WICKEDS: DARK KNIGHTS AT BAYIDE erotic, romance series.

Chloe and Serena Mallery had a rough upbringing. As the older sister, Chloe had to be the “mother”. Although their mother was there, she wasn’t “present”. She didn’t do all of the normal things a mom does—cook, clean, protect her children. She was more interested in finding a man—not always a good man. Chloe endured many late nights standing guard over her sister and herself after one too many advances by her mom’s “bad, biker men”. So, Chloe erected walls around her heart and vowed never to fall for a “bad, biker guy”. She has dedicated her life to developing programs for the elderly at the assisted living center where she works. Justin Wicked was raised by a thieving dad who was convicted of murder and sent to jail. Justin bounced around several foster homes before landing with the Wicked’s. The Wicked’s took Justin in and surrounded him with love. They let him be himself, work out his anger, while continuing to love and support him. They had his back—like a real family should. As a Dark Knight, Justin and the other members, committed to helping the community right wrongs. If they had to fight to help others, so be it. Although Justin flirted with Chloe for over a year, he knew he’d have to prove himself worthy. Justin vowed to win over his “Uptown Girl”. Justin is EVERY girl’s dream—a little bit of danger mixed with a whole lot of sexy! Justin is creative, HOT, kind, and generous. He stands up for the “little guy or dog”. He’s rough, but handles those he loves with care and kindness. I loved the vision of his sculpture and all of the heart put into creating such amazing, meaningful pieces of art. I loved the older women who encouraged Chloe to step out of her comfort zone and LIVE life. Although Justin makes mistakes, he makes them out of love. Family is everything and it was VERY heartwarming when the Wicked’s welcomed Chloe and her sister into the fold. The rescue dogs also touched my heart. I highly recommend this novel. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
