Paige is still undergoing training at the academy when she is surprised by an invitation to join a new search for a serial killer. Everyone doubts she is ready for that – including herself – but Christian is sure that she will be the best match for the case because of her academic knowledge and previous performance. Paige leads the team in a series of wrong searches until she settles down and analyses what is she doing wrong. She sets a new aim, one that may highly be against her own life.

It was a good read as all Blake Pierces' books are, but I found Paige was insecure, a little whiney and childish. it spoilt the read for me a bit picturing her almost like a teenager with a crush on her teacher.

Book 2 in the Paige King series has Paige struggling with the hard training to become an agent. Unexpectedly Agent Chris Mariott picks her to help catch a serial killer. Paige feels like a death row serial killer can help with the identity of this killer but there's not much time before he's put to death. They arrest someone, but Paige isn't very certain he's the killer. Another great book all the way to the last page!
