Valerie Law is a gifted FBI agent with a tragic past. Her boyfriend and her two FBI partners are very concerned for Valerie’s mental health, a concern that she resents. On the trail of a serial killer the team believes was released too soon from a psychiatric facility, Valerie’s recurrent fear of ending up like her mother and sister impacts her behavior on the case. Valerie is racing toward a wall. Hopefully, the support she receives from her team will help her over it.

She ruined everything by beginning to look into her past, wow. She can no longer enjoy her current relationships, boyfriend, vacation, or focus on the active case, but she surpasses herself and resolves everything.

Valerie & Tom go to visit Tom's parents. While eating dinner Valerie is asked about her family. She feels a panic attack coming so she rushes outside for air. Charlie calls asking for help on an investigation near Tom's family home. Things seem to point to the killer being one of the 103 patients that a nearby closed Psychiatric hospital released too soon. Things heat up fast as other victims appear. A great book that keeps your interest until the final page. Can't wait for #4!
