NEXT DOOR (A Chloe Fine Mystery) is book #1 in a new psychological suspense series by bestselling author Blake Pierce, whose #1 bestseller Once Gone (Book #1) (a free download) has received over 1,000 five star reviews.

FBI Evidence Response Team intern Chloe Fine, 27, finds herself forced to confront her own dark past when her troubled twin sister needs her help—and when a body turns up dead in her small, suburban town.

Chloe feels life is finally perfect as she moves back into her home town, and into a new house with her fiancé. Her career with the FBI looks promising, and her wedding is on the horizon.

But, she learns, all is not as it seems in suburbia. Chloe begins to see the underside—the gossip, the secrets, the lies—and she finds herself haunted by her own demons: her mother’s mysterious death when she was 10, and her father’s imprisonment.

And when a fresh body is found, Chloe soon realizes that her past, and this small town, might hold the key to solving both.

An emotionally wrought psychological suspense with layered characters, small-town ambiance and heart-pounding suspense, NEXT DOOR is book #1 in a riveting new series that will leave you turning pages late into the night.

Book #2 in the CHLOE FINE series is also now available!

The story starts with ten year old twins- Danielle and Chloe, who experience a heartbreaking incident when their mother dies. When Martin (Danielle's boyfriend) is murdered it is up to Chloe to unviel the truth. The revelation is quite predictable, but there are also some things that haven't been uncovered. For example, Danielle's sinister smile throughout the story. It still bugs me. Overall, it is worth a read and you would get quiet hitched.

we have two protagonists here both of them are idiots.. ok let me introduce you to Daniel she's antisocial and nobody feels comfortable around her, actually she's a pain in the ass and also stupid.. this Daniel receives threatening litters but she wouldn't report them just because one of the litters said she would be killed if she did so, that makes sense if she's a child but she's an adult woman.. However the author making his best to make me feel sympathy for her. ok, then let me introduce you to Chloe she's a traine fed investigator she found a new evidence that clears her sister of a murder.. she found a blood under the the victim's nail that belongs to someone else.. so the investigators in the field weren't able to search under the victim's nail because they are idiots or something till that genius Chloe came to find the evidence that will release her sister.. actually I'm wasting my time by reading this but once I start reading a book I've to finish it whatsoever.. it's a compulsive incentive more than wanting to read it.

I received a free electronic copy of this psychological thriller from TheFussyLibrarian and Blake Pierce. Thank you for sharing your hard work with me. I have read this novel of my own volition, and this review reflects my honest opinion of this work. Blake Pierce writes a detailed tale with personable characters and a fairly well-hidden agenda. I am looking forward to reading more from this series. Next Door is the first of the Chloe Fine series, but completely stand-alone. And this is a good tale. Twin sisters, orphaned at nine when their mother is murdered and their father is arrested and tried for the crime, the girls are raised by granny in the small town of Pinecrest, MD - a town they couldn't quit fast enough when their high school days were over. The girls are now 27 years old. Danielle is still very reserved, insular, and unable to make or maintain relationships. She returned to Pinecrest a couple of years ago after their grandmother died, and is an evening bartender in a local restaurant. She has an almost steady boyfriend Martin which is a plus for her but she is very troubled and hates her anxiety meds. Chloe is concerned and knows Danielle needs professional help. And she doesn't even know about the threatening letters Danielle is receiving... Chloe and her fiance Steven then move back. Chloe is an intern with the FBI Evidence Response Team and is working out of Pinecrest - and Steven lucks into a good job. so they are set. His parents moved to Pinecrest 5 years ago, so it's like coming home for Steven as well. His mother Sally however is micro-managing the wedding and already driving Chloe crazy even before they move to Pinecrest. Steven takes a hike. Then Martin is murdered. Danielle is blamed for the murder. Chloe knows she is going to have to straighten out this mess. Can she do it? Only time will tell.
