I love this series! It describes times past but some of the difficulties that Ava has to face to prove her dexterity and capacity to work as a Detective still are present in the work environment. City of Vice is a story that had everything against the main character but due to her relentless pursuit for the truth she overcomes all difficulties and attains a good ending in her professional and personal life. Very entertaining!

Great series, good plots and you love the characters. Taking one back to the times of the early 1900s Readers will enjoy. Given ARC for my voluntary review

Because of a relationship blooming between Ava & her detective partner, Ava is transferred to a new precinct and has a new, female detective partner. They investigate what seems to be a suicide, but is it? Things point to murder. She has to work fast to solve this one because she's given only a short time to solve it! Plus, things seem to be coming together for her to solve her husband's murder.
