I did like this book. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because it had a very slow beginning with Annika language barrier I guess you can say. Okay we get she's a mermaid she's from another world but it was a little hard to get through it because of that. But after 10 chapters it really picked up and you kind of just ignored her dialect. Can't wait to see Doyle and Riley hook up.

So far Annika and Sawyer are my favorite. They are from two different worlds, that fell in love, and can never stay together. Well I do hope in the last book. Something happens that they can have a happy ever after. After all they are sole mates...

The story of traveler Sawyer and mermaid Annika is the second book of the Guardians trilogy...not having read the first book, and a huge Nora Roberts fan, I took a chance on reading this book first...I am certainly glad I did so. It took a couple of chapters to catch up with the story from the first book...Ms Roberts does a fine job with providing the backstory...and I settled in for a wonderful read. I thoroughly enjoyed the mythology aspect of the book, and when put together with the rest of the love and conflict, the story took hold and kept me engaged until the cliffhanger ending. I am now looking forward to reading the third book in the trilogy...as well as catching up by reading the first book. Whether writing as Nora Roberts or J D Robb, I am always captivated by this author's style...she never disappoints. This book was provided by Netgalley for my honest review.
