This is Dr. Andre Shaw, and artist/inn owner Violet Vancroft’s story line. BAYSIDE ESCAPE, and subsequently BAYSIDE SUMMERS is another one of Melissa Foster’s spin off series from both the Love in Bloom and Seaside Summers series but can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Several characters and couples cross over for cohesion and familiarity. Told from dual third person perspectives (Violet and Andre) BAYSIDE ESCAPE follows the second chance romance between Dr. Andre Shaw, and artist/inn owner Violet Vancroft. Two years earlier, Violet volunteering overseas fell in love with Dr. Andre Shaw but a call from her sister found our heroine disappearing without a trace, breaking Andre’s heart in the process. Fast forward to present day wherein Violet will come face to face with her past, at her sister’s wedding. Enter Dr. Andre Shaw, the man with whom Violet fell in love. What ensues is the rekindling romance between Andre and Violet, and the potential fall-out as Andre’s time back in the States, comes with an expiry date. Andre Shaw hasn’t stopped looking for Violet Vancroft but was caught unaware of her true identity. Meeting Violet at aher sister’s wedding brought with it painful memories of loss and heartbreak. Violet, never one for putting down roots, floats through life going from place to place. It is during one of her volunteer stints, that Violet meets Andre. If she were to ever settle down, it would be with a man like Andre. The fact that she “feels” so much for Andre, after only knowing him for a few months, scares her to death. When her mom, Lizza, tricks her into coming back home, Violet runs! Andre was forever changed when Violet wondered into his life. Working as a volunteer doctor in a third world country Andre came to realize that all the comforts and technology that he thought was important, really wasn’t. Andre loves Violet’s heart, strength, and kindness. Andre “sees” the real Violet and loves her. But a marriage proposal after knowing her a few months, sends his soul mate running. Fast forward.....Lizza arrives to Desi’s wedding with her “plus one”-Andre. Violet can’t believe the only man she’s ever loved, could be with her mother. Or is this just another ploy by a mother that Desi and Violet don’t trust? This is the first novel I’ve read in this series. Although it can be read as a stand-alone, I would’ve liked to have read them in order. I felt as though I was missing a little of the back story. With that being said, I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. I loved how bad a**, but soft and kind-hearted Violet was. I loved the scene where Violet met Andre’s parents. Hilarious 😂. I loved how encouraging Andre was of Violet’s art. Their shared love of sculpting took me back to the movie Ghost. Violet’s journey of learning to fully open up and trust others enough to include them in her life was soo relatable. The fact that Andre didn’t try to change Vi, but encouraged her to be herself....swoon-worthy! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

Two full length stories were included in this book. Both were well-written, entertaining and sexy. Day of the Dragon: The heroine is a human, a scholar and a language expert, who does not believe in the supernatural. Then she meets Archer Andras - a dragon?!? The two have amazing chemistry and nothing will be the same for either of them. Wolf's Mate by Celia Kyle: Abby Carter is in danger, and werewolf shifter Declan Reed comes to her rescue. But she is not going to just trust him - he is going to have to prove himself. These two have amazing chemistry too, and the fast-paced story kept my attention to the end. I enjoyed these books and look forward to reading more books by these authors.
