About this ebook

New York Times bestselling author Meghan March goes back to New Orleans and the world of Lachlan Mount with a dangerous and bold new anti-hero.

The thing about ghosts is they’re supposed to stay dead.

That’s exactly what I am, but I can’t stay away from Magnolia Marie Maison for one more day, let alone another year.

We’ve already got fifteen of those between us.

As it stands, she’ll want to kill me as soon as she lays eyes on me. And knowing her, she’s completely up to the task.

But I’m a man on a mission, and I’ve got everything riding on this.

So, here I come, Magnolia. This ghost is ready for whatever you got.

After all, there’s only one way I want this to end—’til death do us part.

Creole Kingpin is the first book in the Magnolia Duet. Magnolia’s story concludes in Madam Temptress.

Creole Kingpin is addictive, the fast pace of the narrative ensures complete immersion into the lives of the characters. Meghan March’s ability to weave plot threads and characters through numerous books is absolutely astounding. Our encounter with Moses in the Legend Trilogy leads into his specific story but also returning to the seamy underbelly of New Orleans we initially encountered in the Mount Trilogy giving a sense of the story and characters coming full circle. Moses and Magnolia have done things that go against the atypical moral code in order to survive. Having insight into their personal histories makes you consider what part of your personal moral code you would be willing to sacrifice in order to survive. I liked how both Moses and Magnolia owned the decisions they have made and provided them with the tools with which to flourish not simply survive. However, the time has come for Moses and Magnolia to move on from their dubious origins and look to the future. One which Moses is determined will be with them together. Unfortunately, the ties to the past bring danger to the present impacting the path to the future. There are glimpses of the past between Moses and Magnolia woven into the narrative adding understanding to the connection between them. Although it does also create more questions which need answers. Especially regarding the reasons behind Moses first encounter with Magnolia so many years ago, one which Mount knows the answer to and is resolute Moses discloses the truth prior to Magnolia rekindling the flame between them. We have to wait for Madam Temptress in order to find out the secrets Moses has been keeping as well as uncovering the danger Magnolia has found herself in.

***5 ‘Ho-It-All’ Stars*** Ooohhhhh… Okay. Didn’t see that one coming, but what a way to throw down! Now I definitely NEED to know what the hell is going on, because the reaction is gonna be EPIC! But outside of that ending, I FLOVED this book! Absolutely, FLOVED. Not that it should be a surprise to anyone, but this baby gave me everything I was hoping for when it came to Magnolia. After meeting her in the Mount Trilogy and getting more of her in the Savage Trilogy...well I NEEDED to know all the good, the bad and the ugly and this woman is simply amazing. Tough, no nonsense who owns everything she is. I loved being in her head, seeing her vulnerabilities and learning about what truly motivated her. Moses may not have been on my radar long, but after all that went down in the Legend trilogy, he definitely made the very, very long list of secondary characters by this author that I hoped would get their own HEA, and he hasn’t disappointed. The man is all kinds of Alpha AF, no doubt, but seeing his...gentler side had me melting. As for their journey...I gotta say, I enjoyed the push/pull between them, and to be honest I did tend to be #TeamMags, but what Moses was throwing down...all kinds of melty. But the chemistry between them is intense and they fit so well together, it’s insane...so, it’ll be interesting to see what goes down in Madam Temptress because it promises to be, if nothing else, all kinds of fun! I’m a fan girl of the author’s, that’s no surprise, but I really enjoyed Creole Kingpin. From Magnolia and Moses’ shared history, to their time apart, to the crazy that is going on around them in the story...I just thought it was all well thought out and executed. Also, I loved getting to catch up with a couple of fav’s and seeing where life has taken them. This is a duet, so yes, if you couldn’t tell from the beginning of this review, there is a cliffy and I definitely can’t wait to see all of that plays out. ~ Copy provided by the author & voluntarily reviewed ~

When life is hard in your childhood, you learn to roll with the punches. For Magnolia Marie Maison – the hardships in her life led the beauty to develop a second skin. The type of toughness that is needed to survive on your own through the trails of life. This knowledge led Magnolia to grow her own empire. One that isn’t defined by anyone else. A life that hardened Magnolia’s heart but allowed her to find a path in life that few would travel. Part of Magnolia’s past involves a tryst with the one man that gave her pause – Moses Gaspard. Moses led Magnolia through a dark time in life. A path that led Magnolia to want things in her future that she would never usually dream about. Just when Mags let her guard down, Moses walked out of her life. Why? Magnolia doesn’t really know, but there have been times in the last 15 years that Mags has thought about the one person who captured her heart. Fast forward to the present – Magnolia is working on achieving goals that will take her life in a new direction. Dreams that Mags has never dared to dream before are now coming to fruition. What Magnolia never could have imagined was a blast from her past changing the path. Moses has found his way back to town and is determined to capture Magnolia’s heart again. There is just one problem. Magnolia can’t forget the fact Moses walked out of her life without any explanation and it colors her perception of the situation. Moses knows he has his work cut out for him, but Magnolia might have other plans for her future. Two interwoven hearts find themselves at odds over the past and the future. Tick tock….tick tock…..I have been waiting on Magnolia’s story for quite some time. If you read Ruthless King, then you know how sassy Magnolia’s character is perceived. Everything about the infamous madame intrigues me!! So – I devoured this book once I had it in my hands!! Fans of Meghan March’s writing will remember Moses from The Fall of Legend. The mysterious and handsome man is more of a mystery than ever before. Where has Moses been for the last 15 years?? You will have to delve into the story to learn tidbits of the past. Moses is as mysterious as anyone connected to Mount can be, so I can’t wait to watch Moses’ back history unfold. This series starter definitely left me wanting more of the sassiness that Magnolia brings to any book. Now that Moses is back in the picture, my brain is working overtime to figure out what secrets are lurking with the coming book. The twists concerning this couple are just starting to unravel. Make sure you grab this book to discover the secrets for yourself. Magnolia and Moses are waiting…….
