The book is well written it's just Alyss was either my first or second favorite character so her being killed and seemingly replaced by Maddie just makes me upset😥

I've read the entire series, more than once. one day if I have kids I'll be reading these books to them every night at bedtime. Read the first book around 9 years old and Ive read every book since, even begging my mom to take me the moment i could to buy them when i was a kid! Thank you for the journey! Truly one of my favorite book series.

I can't believe Alyss died!! They should have mentioned I earlier! Although I liked how Madelyn is just as rebellious as her mother. It was a smart idea to make her Will's apprentice because for 1 she would make Will's pain of loosing Alyss at least bearable and 2 it would make Maddy more disciplined. If Maddy thought she could make will go easy on her she was in for a big surprise. I also wondered if will would still be able to get revenge for Alyss and how their mission would go.

John Flanagan grew up in Sydney, Australia, hoping to be a writer. John began writing Ranger’s Apprentice for his son, Michael, ten years ago, and is still hard at work on the series and its spinoff, Brotherband Chronicles. He currently lives in the suburb of Manly, Australia, with his wife. In addition to their son, they have two grown daughters and four grandsons.
