A swoony hotshot firefighter romance from USA Today Bestselling Author J.H. Croix!

It all started when my cat needed something expressed. Do I have to explain?

That’s when Farrah Taylor walked into my life, a fantasy spun true. Aside from stealing my breath, she handled the awkward situation with aplomb.

Turns out she’s my neighbor, and my grumpy cat has a crush on her. He’s not the only one.

Neighbors with benefits is the perfect option. I don’t have time for romance.

Until I want more. Until just being neighbors isn’t enough.

Farrah & Cooper’s story is perfect for readers who love small town romance, hotshot firefighters, broody heroes, smart sassy heroines, neighbors who don’t believe in love, a cat with a crush, opposites attract, slow burn, emotional romance with a dash of angst, plenty of steam and swoon, and a deeply protective grumpy hero.

*A full-length standalone romance.

This story was low in angst and drama. It was simply about two hearts falling in love with each other. Cooper is a great guy who was betrayed badly in his last relationship and this is his fresh start. He has everything you expect from a firefighter hero. He is protective and has a strong sense of morality. He fell first for Farrah. I was so irritated and annoyed with his mother who kept on pushing him to give his cheating ex fiance another chance! He made his feelings and stand very clear and I don't appreciate how he was blindsided at one point. Farrah came from an abusive house and she doesn't trust easily. She carries a lot of resentment and anger towards her mother even though she loves her mother. She was more reluctant to open her heart but Cooper showed her how amazing it could be to have a partner. ( ARC review)

A sweet and sexy story of two broken souls who happen to be neighbors when they start their new life in a small town of Alaska. Both Farrah and Cooper don't believe in love because they have their own issues. Farrah with her family and Cooper with his ex. But they're attracted to each other and with their friends and coworkers are in the same circle because Cooper is a firefighter, they seem to can't avoid each other. When they discover that they are also neighbour, they give into their lust and it turns to be so much more. I have to say the story is definitely J.H. Croix's style which I admire and love to read. it's an easy read with a little bit of angst in between. I have to say the book is much lighter than many books I read lately but it's refreshing and I enjoy reading it.

4.5 stars. This book has one of the most memorable first meets I have read! I felt an instant connection to Farrah and Cooper and wanted to hug them both for what they had been through. I enjoyed seeing their connection and chemistry grow and loved the way Humpty completed them. Their story was filled with good friends, family, and pasts they were still dealing with. I also enjoyed the flow of the story, the strong characters, catching up with past couples and the love that was shown throughout. I am voluntarily leaving this review after receiving an ARC.
