I've been really enjoying the series and David Dalglish's work - the Paladin series blew me away. I do have to say that I felt like this book was a bit of a weaker entry in some places. Personally I felt that Tessanna was not very compelling of a character (there is such a thing as being TOO tragic imo), and I also felt that the gore was a bit too much in this book (not in the sense that it offended me, more in the sense that the stakes didn't feel as high or impactful because having someone explode into blood is just a normal thing that happens). That being said, the whole book works towards setting up a very interesting contrast between the two brothers, and I was definitely invested in the Eschaton crew. If you just push through the weaker moments, the stronger moments WILL blow you away

I love and hate this ongoing story. I hate the way it makes me crave more like a bad drug or alcohol problem. I love the way it all comes together and with the same hate I have, I love the crave for more. Great job David. Am excited to start the next book

A quick, fun read. I had never read a fantasy book before this one, so I wasn't sure it would be for me. I'm happy to say I sincerely enjoyed it and recommend it for people interested in the genre.
