About this ebook

A usurped prince prepares to take up the mantle of a deadly assassin and reclaim his kingdom, his people, and his slain gods in this epic fantasy from a USA Today bestselling author.

Cyrus was only twelve years old when his gods were slain, his country invaded, and his parents—the king and queen—beheaded in front of him. Held prisoner in the invader's court for years, Cyrus is suddenly given a chance to escape and claim his revenge when a mysterious group of revolutionaries comes looking for a figurehead. They need a hero to strike fear into the hearts of the imperial and to inspire and unite the people. They need someone to take up the skull mask and swords and to become the legendary "Vagrant"—an unparalleled hero and assassin of otherworldly skill.

But all is not as it seems. Creating the illusion of a hero is the work of many, and Cyrus will soon discover the true price of his vengeance.

Truly disappointed with this book, it was definitely not as good as his other series. I will read the second book to see if it gets any better.

Their King and Queen Slain. Their Gods Executed. Their Prince a prisoner. Thus, the Empire brought the island nation of Thanet under heel. Within every conquered nation sparks rebellion, but in what will the people put their faith? In whom can the hope of a nation burn? The Vagrant Prince - Cyrus Lythan - is supposed to be that hope, but can he come to carry the weight of it in time to save Thanet from being just another victim? To do so, he will need to not only learn to fight Paragons - the chosen, empowered warriors of Everlorn's God-Incarnate - but he will have to learn to have Faith in himself, and Love for the people he fights for. The Bladed Faith features a colorful cast of characters - dethroned royalty, displaced Paladins, dead Gods, and warrior women - intrigue, action, and leaves you hungry to know more of the fate of Thanet, and the rest of the world across the Crystal Sea. LGBT friendly - 3 of the main ensemble characters are gay/lesbian, with other Gay and Trans characters shown as normalized in society (even if they are coming under attack). Note: PAY ATTENTION TO WHOSE POV A CHAPTER IS IN! at the end of the book, there's a change, an important one. \ Klhfdsalkfdslkjfhf I can’t even with this book. I have been waiting to gush about it for so long, and I finally get to, and I just don’t even have words. I know the words above sound pretty, but I just love so much about the book. It’s hard to talk about and not spoil it. David has done so well with this new world, and I’m so excited to see where he takes us with book two. The Bladed Faith is a solid series starter, with lots of action and brilliant battle scenes, juxtaposed beside characters being uncertain of the path they’re on, and tender moments that break your heart. Seriously, David has outdone himself with this one, and it only promises to get better and better. If you're looking for something new, a different sort of chosen one who has the chance to walk away from fate, but at a high cost - if you like badass women, both the rough around the edges, and the soft unassuming type, seriously, give it a shot.
