I think that Riley continues to grow in this book. She encounters many changes in both her personal and professional lives. With age, she understands that her life has not turned out as she once expected. I also think she is more self aware (consciously choosing not to drink during stress because she remembers choices made after drinking too much alcohol) and able to express her feelings (being a true mentor to Jen - listening and waiting to speak). There is a reference to a gyroscope which fits with Riley’s ever changing life. She states that she had one as a child and used it to find comfort during painful times. It also relates to her adult life as she is always moving like a “swimming shark,” as another character describes her, yet she remains grounded with her family. I look forward to reading what lies ahead for Riley in “Once Missed,” #16 in the Riley Paige Mystery series.

While I really do like reading the Riley Paige series and am captivated by her character and the interesting story lines, if I have to hear about one more "stifled" or "suppressed"or even an "exasperated" SIGH..... I'm gonna freakin scream !! How many times in story after story can you use that word ?? The woman seemingly solves crimes and " sighs". She wakes up.... and sighs. Watches her children play.... and sighs. Gets asked questions... and suppresses a sigh. For the love of God and the sanity of your dedicated readers, find another phrase.

Once shunned, Riley Paige at her best.... Does she at last know why she can look inside the mind of the killer? An intriguing insight whilst on the hunt for the ice pick killer.. Couldn't read fast enough... But did not want it to end! Brilliant really enjoyed and as usual hanging out for the next in series...
