so right there in the beginning and we have her talking about her father's favorite rifle that her mother insisted she have, and I had to ask myself is that the same rifle that her father killed her mother with when she was just a kid? nothing against the storylines but I have to wonder in which book will Avery, Rose, her not so dead, not so ex husband Jack have Christmas dinner with Mom, Dad, her half-sister from nowhere and her two twin brothers that I'm sure we've yet to hear about

A little disappointed in the beginning so far. Although its a standalone novel, its should still line up with the storyline from the previous books. A lot of small plot differences which is annoying having just finished the last book.

I felt like I was reading a different story, her mother gave her dad's rifle when he died. Thought he murdered her mother and went to jail? This book was a disappointment being the end of the series. Felt like it was rushed, just to put an end to avery black.
