A compelling introduction to meditation told through a [arguably] interesting story of a high-stress, high-stakes news anchor dedicated to his career. Dan provides a modern and secular take on Buddhist philosophy without too much "hippy stuff". This book may help you get into meditation, but I don't see it as a self help book. It's a good book for those who are either: 1) curious about meditation but have never investigated 2) want to learn more about your own mind and thoughts by listening to someone else's self-discovery.

A complete waste of time and no help to me at all. The author keeps saying meditate, meditate, and meditate but gives no advice on how. I have been reading a lot of books but this has been the worst thus far.

Recommend read! Dan Harris tells a great story and is actually quite funny. Still talk about this book and finished a while ago!

Dan Harris is host of the 10% Happier Podcast. For 21 years, he worked at ABC News, where he was the co-anchor of Nightline and the weekend editions of Good Morning America. He also reported from all over the world, including war zones and presidential campaigns. Before joining ABC, he worked for local news outlets in Boston and Maine. He lives in New York with his wife, son, and a gaggle of rescue cats.
