Yes this is a legend, a very foundation of isekai novel where a protagonist trapped in a different world. However, what a let down. I watched the anime and love it so much I decided to give the light novel a try since it is what the anime based on. I didn't expect it to be this boring. It completely similar the the anime, literally. There isn't much inner thought of the protagonist and character development is so slacking. Klein's guild members, the Army's members, and the 4 KoB members that when out with Kirito for training barely being named at all. I fell like they are scarecrows to the author to be tossed away. There are holes in the plot too, for instance, why the KoB employs real players just ro stand guard outside their headquarter? They can just employs NPCs and let the players clear the monsters or train their skills rather than standing still to guard their HQ in a SAFEZONE.

Iv lost track of all the times iv watched the SAO anime both in the dubbed and subbed versions, funnily enough my first episode i saw (on toonami) was the last episode of the aincrad arc. But that alone led me to find and watch the whole series in under a week. Now a few years later when i had the money to buy it, reading the novel was amazing. Being able to read it and in my minds eye still see the animation and hear the characters voices was awesome. Now onto the next book!
