About this ebook

A standalone military romance in the gripping Pine Harbour series of small town romances from ten-time USAT bestselling author Zoe York.Captain Sean Foster came back from war broken from the inside out. And he doesn't care about being fixed. Not even by a woman who followed him halfway around the world due to some misguided loyalty.
Jenna Kowalczyk had two weeks with a man who stole her heart. They promised each other forever, but one brutal explosion proved that promise to be paper-thin.
She should leave him in the past. That's what he wants her to do. But from the second the determined midwife shows up in Pine Harbour, she knows she's staying--no matter how much heartache is in store for her.

military, midwife, TBI, grieving, recovery, relationships, Canada Most of the book is written alternately balancing the whirlwind love-into-marriage with the post TBI present as time moves along. The character of Sean is spot on for a military victim of TBI, and Jenna demonstrates the positive aspects of someone in love with a person who doesn't know how to cope with the devastating changes that have occurred in life. All of the characters are engaging and intriguing, and the plot is well crafted. Disclaimer-I worked with patients who had brain injuries for a number of years.

I knew Sean's book was going to be an emotional read and I was right. Zoe York has written a beautiful, heartfelt book that will keep you reading far into the night. You can tell what a terrific author Zoe is by the way she tears at your heartstrings one minute and then has you laughing the next. Sean and Jenna meet overseas. He's a Captain with the Canadian Armed Forces and Jenna is a midwife serving with Doctors Without Borders. One morning, fate has them reaching for the same apple at breakfast. When their leave happens, they decide to vacation together. At first, they're thinking this will just be a fling, but they soon realize it is so much more. No spoilers, so I highly recommend this book to anyone that has never read any of Zoe's books or to anyone that loves a wonderful romance.
