About this ebook

Andy is in a
world of trouble.

On the last day of a sea kayaking trip in southeast Alaska, fourteen-year-old Andy Galloway paddles away from his group to visit the nearby site where his archaeologist father died trying to solve the mystery of the first Americans. A sudden, violent storm blows Andy's kayak off course and washes him ashore on Admiralty Island, an immense wilderness known as the Fortress of the Bears. Struggling to survive, Andy encounters a dog running with wolves and then a man toting a stone-tipped spear. The wild man vanishes into the forest, but the dog reappears and leads Andy to a cave filled with Stone Age tools and weapons. Running for his life, Andy retreats deep into the cave, where danger, suspense, and discovery await.

Andy Galloway wanted to go see the spot in Alaska where his dad died. So he left the camp even thought it was breaking the rules. While he was looking the wind rapidly picked up. He new if he went sideways his boat would have tipped. He ended up hitting this island miles a way from his camp. He started looking for food but wile doing that he spotted movement. He looked closer and saw a man with a huge dog and a spear. Andy did not want killed by the spear so he walked away. The next day he found the dog lying by the spear. He thought the wildman was giving him these things so he took them. The next time he saw him when wild man look like it was an all out war. This book had many things I liked. First it all took place in nature areas. Also Andy and the Wildman had to live off the land. Will Hobbes made it an adventure to read. I did not like that in the main part of the story there was a lack of details. You can read this book any time you want to. While I was reading this book it reminded me of the show man vs. wild. This book is all about nature.
