As an adult, I found that the books were a good escape and I wanted to see how different they are from the movies (also a good escape). Although the ending may have shocked some, I found it inevitable, based on Tris's development as a person - selfless to the very end; however, that does not mean that the ending did not sadden me. Everyone wishes for a rainbow.

This is a very well told story. I like the dystopian theme, and the arc theme of how those in power will, more often than not, do anything to gain even more power. Its an interesting concept, and really digs deep into the innate evil of humans. I like the story, its well told, I do NOT recommend for kids because the kissing scenes get a little... Detailed. And there's a lot of them. It's interesting... A dystopian/romance/action isn't something you see everyday in a novel. But yeah. For hunger games fans, this is a good read. The storyline is a little hard to follow, there isn't a super obvious climax in the first or second book, but the third book had a climax I think was a little too obvious... And there wasn't a great resolution for it either. Good series, the plotline is just ok.

This dystopian-themed series is a decent read, especially for hunger games fans. Although, I got a bit bored towards the middle of the 2nd and 3rd book, very briefly. When the action plots come around they pack punches and leave no time to stop and take a breath, thus plunging you into the mindset into this poor but very brave young woman. All in all, I recommend it for people looking for something more after finishing the Hunger Games series.
