I beta read this book then reread it once published; It's a fantastic book! I really loved Tasi and her development. Lizzie was and still is my favorite character from this book. The story is fast paced and interesting. The twist had me gasping.

This book was full of twists and turns. I could not put it down. The characters are so relatable. The villains were surprising and had a great back story. I want to know more about what happened in the past. I absolutely loved reading this.

A refreshing tale of the dhampyr world where a teenage half-vampire is thrust into the unknown vampire vs human world. Tasi, armed with only the knowledge her aunt gave her and the responsibility of keeping her innocent sister safe, has to venture out of the only town she’s known and into a world where she and her sister have to survive. All she knows are vampires are bad and will hunt them down. So what happens when the creatures you have been afraid of becomes your only hope for survival?

V. M. Nelson writes upper young adult and new adult fantasy. She is originally from Bridgeport, Connecticut, and is the author of the Dhampyr Series and Forged of Immortal Blood. When she isn’t writing, you can find her playing video games or spending time with the family.

Virginia currently resides in Minnesota with her partner and three children. She has always been obsessed with myths, legends, and fairytales and will often intertwine those into her books. If asked, she would prefer to live in an alternate universe with vampires and fairies.
