oh my God!! I read half, wishing for it to show some respect for Allie, but NO!! What is wrong with the author?? Why the hell is Nate spanking a grown woman all the time? he spanked her when he didnot even know her and was only asked to get her home from the coach! They are not even a couple, and he is shown lifting her dress and spanking her across his lap? Nate is always carrying her and making her sit on his lap, and there is this mention on her being very small.. my goodness .. she is supposed to be the heroine!! And her brother Joe is allowing all this? Why? The author describes Allie as a hellion but shows her as a timid, scared, tearful idiot!! Also, Allie belongs to a family with servants and butler.. balls and society.. how come her high breed brother works at a ranch?? Seems the story is written by a child who finds amusement in the humiliation of women!

a brother would not let a man treat his sister like Nat did, she should have left him at the start, especially when he spanked her, she should have left him then, he picked her up to much after all she wasn't 2 years old! no man carries a woman around like that! good story BADLY written

I really liked this story. It had a sassy and strong h as well as a strong (sometimes caveman-like) H. It was also well written, sweet with a little heat. Alright, first I had to remember it was 1857 and so her being handed over for disapline was a hard pill to swallow but I realized it was a part if life back then.

About the author

It all started when I was in the fifth grade. I had this lovely teacher. Tall, Bright red hair. She never had a hair out of place or a blemish in her make up and we all adored her. Her name was Mrs. J. 

One day she gave an assignment-write a short story and read it aloud to the class. I did.

When the grizzly bear entered, I glanced up and noticed she had a twitch somewhere around her left eye. And by the time body parts started flying, it had progressed all the way down to her mouth. I began to wonder if she was going to remain upright all the way through it.

She did, though. She was quite pale at the end but she made it. But the kids in the class loved the story because it was about them. And by the time they began asking me to write more, I was hooked!

Ruby Caine is a lifelong resident of a small community outside of New Orleans. With the support of her loving husband of 30 years, and their four children, she fulfilled her dream of becoming an author. Aaron loves reading love stories with strong women and the strong men who love and protect them. Her stories are full of passion, tension and a touch of humor.
