As usual and expected from a favorite author, this is a fantastic story and an attention-grabbing read!! I very much enjoy this entire series which keeps getting better and better with each subsequent book. I don't think that was what I expected when I started reading this series, and yet my enjoyment has increased with each new addition to the series. The regular characters, new adventures and new additions to the core cast are all superbly developed and well-written. Patricia Briggs has created keepers for my personal library with the Mercy Thompson series and I offer my humble thanks to her!!

Definitely trying to keep this review from having any spoilers, so I'll keep it short. I've been eagerly awaiting this new installment in the series, and it did not disappoint! The story was gripping and exciting, and the magic and world building as mind blowing as always. Loved getting more backstory on our favorite vampires. And I really enjoyed having a few chapters from Adam's perspective! My only regret is that I finished it already. I just can't help myself with Patricia Briggs' books. Time to reread the entire series again, I guess! For anyone new to the books, they are amazing and I 100% recommend! In this book I was also intrigued by some carefully hinted things about Zee, and I'm hoping that one day in this series we will get to hear more of his story. And I'm looking forward to the next book in Anna and Charles' series, where I hope we will get to dig into what is going on with Samuel right now. I can't wait!

I love this series. Mercy and Adam are so great together. She gives him a run for his money 🤣. Mercy can keep up with whatever is thrown her way.
