About this ebook

Betrayed, the second installment in the bestselling House of Night series from P. C. Cast and Kristin Cast, is dark and sexy, and as thrilling as it is utterly shocking.

Fledgling vampyre Zoey Redbird has managed to settle in at the House of Night. She's come to terms with the vast powers the vampyre goddess, Nyx, has given her, and is getting a handle on being the new Leader of the Dark Daughters. Best of all, Zoey finally feels like she belongs--like she really fits in. She actually has a boyfriend...or two. Then the unthinkable happens: Human teenagers are being killed, and all the evidence points to the House of Night. While danger stalks the humans from Zoey's old life, she begins to realize that the very powers that make her so unique might also threaten those she loves. Then, when she needs her new friends the most, death strikes the House of Night, and Zoey must find the courage to face a betrayal that could break her heart, her soul, and jeopardize the very fabric of her world.

The young fledgling vampyre, Zoey Redbird, has finally begun settling in her new home at the House of Night, a private school for young fledgling vampyres. From the time she was marked, her and everyone around her recognized her powers which the goddess Nyx blessed her with. Zoey also must focus on fulfilling her role as leader of the Dark Daughters, where she plans to reform the group from a social gathering into a scholar-based group. Just as Zoey begins fitting in and enjoying her new life, there is a drastic change of events; Human teenagers begin disappearing. The bodies of two male teenagers, whom Zoey knew from meeting them at parties, were found dead and all evidence pointed towards The House of Night. After Zoey’s first ritual leading the Dark Daughters, all seems well until Zoey’s roommate, Stevie Ray, who is one of her closest friends, seems to be rejecting the change into a vampyre. Once a fledgling’s body rejects the change, there is no way to stop it and the end result is death. During Zoey’s long depression over the loss of her close friend, Stevie Ray, she was watching the news one day and discovered some shocking news. A third teenager was missing, Heath, the guy who Zoey had dated in her human days and had recently imprinted on, they had a very special bond due to the imprinting. After finding out this news, Zoey feels obligated to attempt to save Heath. Due to her imprinting, she has a bond with Heath, which allows them to telepathically communicate. After talking to Heath about his whereabouts, she manages to reach him in the dark cellars below the city, only to face something more vicious than the sewer rats. While trying to release Heath’s bound arms and legs, Zoey encounters her worst fear, dozens of young vampyres, including Stevie Ray. These creatures were not human nor vampyre, they were some form of the undead. Zoey manages to escape the undead creatures only to face something much worse, her mentor and the school’s High Priestess, Neferet. Zoey then returns to the school and has no idea of what happened in the tunnels. However, using her powers, she asks for the goddess to return her memory to her, causing her to reverse the spell Neferet had put on her, she now remembered every detail of her encounter with the undead and Neferet’s betrayal of the goddess.

The second novel in the house of night series, Betrayed is full of suspense and drama. Zoey redbird is now more than an average flengling gifted with the 5 elements from the goddess nyx. Zoey thinks her life is starting to turn semi-normal. It's not until things start to unravel at the house of night that Zoey starts to see hidden behind the truth is lies. It's time for Zoey to figure out who she really is, and fast before it's to late. This book is full of tear shedding suspense that keeps the reader at the edge of their seat. I recommand this a must read for those young adult vampire fans out there.

I absolutely adore this series. P. C. Cast did a phenomenal job when she wrote this tale. Though because of how many books there are, I wish there would be at least some kind of deal, other wise purchasing all of the books will end up costing quite a bit. Worth the read, if you have the time and the money to invest (:
