I've read several of Melissa Foster's books and tweeted to her how much I enjoyed them, fully expecting to get hit with a demand for a review. Didn't happen. Foster is a class act who puts her efforts into her books rather than harassing her readers. I was ready to roll when this book came along. I was not disappointed. What impressed me most was her character construction. Amy is someone I could easily not like at all because I'd be so jealous of how pretty and sweet she is. But Foster has so nicely drawn this character that she's irresistible, the kind of person you'd love to hate but instead end up wanting as your best friend. When her love of Tony runs into brick walls, the reader runs into them with her and hurts right along with her. I wanted to reach through the book and give her a hug. Tony is one of those gorgeous men you hope is a jerk. In Foster's hands, he's a nicely rounded character who is anything but a jerk or wish you could have him all to yourself. He belongs with Amy. It's impossible not to have your heart break a little when circumstances keep him from the tremendous love he has for her, and the world of hurt he goes through when a misunderstood past stands as

I thoroughly loved Seaside Secrets! Amy returns to Seaside community after years of being away to attend one of her besties wedding. Tony, a famous surfer/speaker is also there to attend the wedding. Amy and Tony are no strangers as they were childhood friends and had a secret relationship during the last summer Amy spend at Seaside. But due to a tragic accident, Amy broke off the relationship and they remain casual friends for 14 years. However, both are very much in love with each, but don't know how to get past the events of that fateful last summer. They love wins out and they are able to move past and start a new relationship. Get ready with tissues, because the Lighthouse scene will bring you to tears. Melissa writes a wonderful passionate, emotional story about how lost love can find it's way back even through tragedy. I would recommend this story to anyone who loves romance and happy endings. I was given a commentary copy of this book.

Amy has been vacationing with her friends on Cape Code for years. And for years she's been in love with Tony, a pro surfer boarder. Something happened years ago that changed their relationship. But Tony sees her as just a friend. So Amy decides to make one last effort to win his heart. If she can't, she'll accept a job far enough away that hopefully she'll be able to forget him for ever. The visuals for this story are wonderful. I felt like I was at the beach with the friends. The comradery between friends was authentic and heartwarming. The romance between the two characters was dramatic and passionate. While this book can definitely work as a stand-alone (I haven't read the previous ones), I would recommend reading the previous ones first. It's a sweet fun romance that was a great introduction to a great author. I received this book free of charge in exchange for my honest review.
