We are back to my favourite town, Papillon! You have to love this crazy town and it's habitants!!! Major Blanchard came back to be close to his father and take care of him, after being diagnosed with early onset dementia. Brynn Pearson is an actress in town with a movie crew. She never had a life of her own outside of the spotlight and now she experienced it and loving it. After their first hilarious meeting they seem to click. Their journey is funny, sweet.

Bayou Sweetheart is book five in the Butterfly Bayou series from Lexi Blake, and it turned out to be exactly what I needed to cleanse my reading palette after several heavier reads. That isn't to say that this didn't give me the feels, because Major Blanchard and Brynn Pearson's story most certainly did. As always, that sense of community makes every visit to Papillon, Louisiana wonderfully worthwhile. With Blake's notable writing and MCs you can't help but root for, this was a 5-starred read.
