#1 New York Times Bestseller

A USA TODAY Bestseller

An achingly authentic and raw portrait of love, regret, and the life-altering impact of the relationships we hold closest to us, this YA romance bestseller is perfect for fans of Colleen Hoover, Jenny Han, and Lynn Painter.

If he had been with me, everything would have been different...

Autumn and Finn used to be inseparable. But then something changed. Or they changed. Now, they do their best to ignore each other.

Autumn has her boyfriend Jamie, and her close-knit group of friends. And Finn has become that boy at school, the one everyone wants to be around.

That still doesn't stop the way Autumn feels every time she and Finn cross paths, and the growing, nagging thought that maybe things could have been different. Maybe they should be together.

But come August, things will change forever. And as time passes, Autumn will be forced to confront how else life might have been different if they had never parted ways...

Captivating and heartbreaking, If He Had Been with Me is perfect for readers looking for:

  • Contemporary teen romance books
  • Unputdownable & bingeworthy novels
  • Complex emotional YA stories
  • TikTok Books
  • Jenny Han fans
  • Colleen Hoover fans

This book was ..... A something. Walk into a library, found this book, and liked the preview. Read it and omg was it worth it. Basically we get a teen girls view from four years, mainly in highschool and summer. She has a friend group, find love, and then around chapter 25 to 35 (?) does the story get cool. A girl in the group is pregos(maybe was in the third year?), somewhere near the end the main girls boyfriend is like I don't like you(bullship), and forgot to mention her elementary best friend since birth then got ditched, is dating a girl that main girl dislikes, then elementary friend tries to make main girl happy again, they fax each others brains out, and the elementary boyfriend dies from his girlfriend (not to be confused with the main girl) just laying unconscious on the road(she went flying out the windshield and ragdolled onto the earth). Main girl is sad again, and is pregnant somehow. And that's how the author ends the ducking book. Somehow really good. 4/5. Srry lon

This was a beautiful and descriptive book very intriguing and exciting and I loved the character development between Autumn and Finn it was a book about understandment and about finding who the one they each would love forever and realizing that, that type of person was there the whole time but the end caught me so off guard I was not expecting that at all and I am now devastated by that but I'm glad that they both were able to confess to wanna another. It was a great book 20/10 out ten for sure I deeply recommend it.

Got the book since i'd seen it plenty of times on tiktok under the title "books that crushed me" and i finally get why it suits it so well. If you felt like the odd one out in highschool, you won't have trouble relating to Autumn's struggles through her highschool years. It's a beautiful books and brings to the table topics that are not usually there, like mental health. I loved it yet the ending got me crying like a little girl and screaming WHAT WAIT WHAT?????? over and over again. My heart is in pain, but looking forward to Finny's pov!!
