I was enjoying this book, but I also ended up turning pages that had 1 letter on each page. Pretty much turned into turning page after page with few pages of the story. I'd had enough! I do not recommend this book.

4.25 STARS—FIGHTING THE FIRE is the third full-length instalment in Laura Kaye’s contemporary, adult WARRIOR FIGHT CLUB erotic, military, romance series focusing on a number of retired military personnel who meet at the local WFC headed by Army Ranger Moses Griffin. This is former US Navy and current firefighter Sean Riddick, and former US Black Hawk and current nurse Daniela England’s story line. FIGHTING THE FIRE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Told from dual third person perspectives (Sean and Dani) FIGHTING THE FIRE follows the frenemies to lovers relationship between former US Navy and current firefighter Sean Riddick, and former US Black Hawk and current nurse Daniela England. Months earlier Dani and Sean had a one -night stand but in the ensuing months Dani struggled with regret in the face of the upcoming anniversary of her husband’s death. An accident outside of the Warrior Fight Club involving Sean pushed Dani to take care of our story line hero, a push that would place our couple together for the foreseeable future but as their relationship turns into something more, Dani begins to pull away, leaving Sean wondering where it all went wrong. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Dani and Sean, and the potential fall-out as Dani continues to struggle with the death of her husband, as Sean battles the demons from the past. Dani England knows loss but the loss of her husband was the final straw. Struggling to move on, Dani would join the WFC gym, where she would meet firefighter Sean Riddick, the man whose penchant for super heroes would find Dani wishing for a super hero of her own. Sean Riddick’s family life had been a living h*ll but now he considers his fellow first responders as his family and friends but Dani England was a someone he wanted in his life, if only he were able to get past the barriers she erected around her heart. The relationship between Dani and Sean is one of second chances, of a sorts, following a one-night stand months before. Dani continued to push away our hero at every opportunity but Sean wasn’t willing to back down with a try. An accident would pull our couple together, an accident that could have very well ended our hero’s career. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including the members of the WFC: Marine Noah Cortez, Ranger Moses Griffin, diving instructor Tara Hunter, MMA coaches John ‘Mack’ McPherson, Billy Parrish and Shayna, Leo ‘Hawk’ Hawkins, Jesse, Jud, Jayne, and Colby Richmond. The camaraderie is friendly and fun. FIGHTING THE FIRE is a story of family, friendships, acceptance and love. The premise is captivating and emotional; the romance is passionate; the characters are dynamic and charismatic.

I am so glad this author is back! Dani and Riddick, we have met through the previous books. A ton of chemistry added by a double dose of bickering and this couple just explodes slowly.sinfully.wickedly. Dani and Riddick are so good for each other if their pasts don't bring them crashing down. If you are in need of a helping hand however never count out either of these fierce fighters. And Dani knows Riddick wants her but deep down doesn't she want him to? Fantastic story! Absolutely love this couple! "My shower is your shower." "My Popcorn is your popcorn."
