Most people don't realize that Ms. Marvel replaced Captain Marvel a long time ago. Ms. Marvel went on to fight Rogue which is where Rogue got her super strength and flying ability. Shazam however is DC and very much unrelated.

Guys,guys: THIS is MARVEL's Captain Marvel. The one you're referring to is D.C. 's Captain Marvel(aka Shazam). Two TOTALLY different heroes from different universes. GET IT STRAIGHT

I'm currently making my way through all the Captain Marvel and Kelly Sue Deconnick I can get my hands on and this was by far my favorite I've read so far. By the end you're really rooting for people you've never met and really cheering for their success. Nice cameo of GotG and also pretty cool when we get essentially a new GotG ft. Capt. Marvel. By the end you're in awe of just how cool Carol Danvers is.
