Stripped of her family and kept in a tall tower by a fierce dragon due to the scheming of a mysterious stranger, Jade seems to be living in a twisted fairy tale. She soon learns, though, that fate has its own ideas of who should play each part, and that family is where you find it.

Just like everyone of your other books I loved it! And this book actually pained me, in the beginning when magic turned into that scary forbidden thing of fairy tales, and the world was slipping back into war. Like all the work, all the pain of our heroes of the Deacon Trilogy was for nothing. And I love how in your books there is those moments of relization, where its like gasp and smile. (Maybe just me :D)

A truly wonderful addition to the Deacon series! It stands separate from the original trilogy, but still brings the story around "full circle"! I can't wait for the D'Karon Apprentice book to come tomorrow so I can continue this wonderful journey the author has led me on throughout the series so far!

This was a wonderful book! I bought it at 3 in the morning. I just wanted it to go on and on. Jade was so courageous , so determined . Halifax gruff but kind. Loved it.every single word.

About the author

Joseph Lallo, though having written several novels, was slow to consider himself an author. Educated at NJIT, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering, the world of Information Technology is where most of his bills were paid until Sept of 2014 when he finally became a full-time author. When not writing, he owns and operates BrainLazy.com along with two friends. There he posts random rants and editorials regarding the world of humor, entertainment, and technology.
