John Ringo tells splendid tales. For that reason it's OK that his political sense is stunted. This series is nicely developed from the initial events that expose the US and the larger world to a rather fierce universe through to interstellar alliances in which a (US, of course) Navy Top Gun gives guidance to an alien on space fighting. The books read well enough, but Ringo's jingo makes it increasingly difficult as the series develops to suspend one's disbelief to enter into his universe. Four stars is generous, in short.

John Ringo's stories are excellent, though not for idiot liberals or the easily offended. Quite important to remember that it's SCIENCE fiction.
