Compared to the first book, this book contains a lot more action, though still lacks any meaningful character development. One thing that interests me is that there appears to be no internal conflict except for a small handful of characters, and bits of personality are sprinkled in, as if they're an afterthought. Another thing is that even though there is more action in this book, it all feels non-urgent.
