What's up with the constant redundant writing. From the start Miller is rehashing dialogue, to the point that it detracts from the overall story. Also: SPOILER- what happened to Viki & Alfred in the gulch? Batman runs them down, along with the cops, then speeds away leaving them both battered and bloody? Sloppy storytelling! Bit disappointed

ASBAR is Frank Miller's batman fan fiction. Make Batman look homicidal and make the JLA look ineffectual in order to make Batman look good. The writing is repetitive, pace is slow, characterization is off center, and to top it all off it was never finished. If you want to read a good story about how Dick Grayson became Robin, check out Dark Victory.

While the artwork by Jim Lee is actually quite good, this Batman story is nevertheless very mediocre, which is very weird, coming from the same guy who did The Dark Knight Returns (one of the most famous and iconic Batman stories) many years ago.
