About this ebook

A sense of fatigue dogs the fitness world. Many of the new programs that are tagged as groundbreaking are actually recycled ideas. Foundation offers something completely different for novices and athletes alike: a simple program with powerful and proven results that will remedy bad posture, alleviate back pain, and help readers break through fitness challenges and plateaus.

Dr. Eric Goodman, a brilliant and dynamic young chiropractor, teams up with Peter Park, one of the top trainers in the United States, to radically redefine the core--shifting the focus from the front of the body to the back. Their groundbreaking approach works to strengthen the lower back and the full posterior chain and correct poor movement patterns by addressing mechanical imbalances and weaknesses. Foundation training involves simple movement patterns and is equipment free, creating maximum power, flexibility, and endurance.

Word-of-mouth enthusiasm has inspired both Hollywood luminaries and world-class athletes to make Foundation training the core of their fitness programs. Eric and Peter's client list has grown exponentially to include Lance Armstrong, NBA star Derek Fisher, world-champion surfer Kelly Slater, and actor Matthew McConaughey.

Bought this soon as it released. I had gone through PT a few times for my back and experienced some stints of very debilitating pain that I was soo DONE with. I knew from my PT experience already that strength is the key to being pain free, and was very interested in learning the exercises to help. The first part of the book is a lot of fluff and filler trying to convince you how great it is, but the exercise program DOES work. But its not for the lazy. Like any workout, you have to commit to it.

My husband was crippled with back and leg pain...he started doing the foundation after researching on the internet and talking to chiropractors. He had more motion after only 2 weeks. Now, a year later, it's like that part of his life never happened. He can run up stairs, pick up heavy objects again and he is back to being himself again, enjoying life. Today he does only the foundation exercise but he does it multiple times a day. It alone seems to keep the pain away and strength in his core.

Who really credits the person who writes a simple, over-exaggerated and fluffy forward to their book as if they're one of the authors -- except for the (hopeful) "wow" factor? I think that most people are growing tired of Armstrong with all of his pitiful shenanigans. It also gets worse when they have McConaughey (an actor, really?) comment on the book. Really, guys? Sad. To me, this set the tone for the whole book. It's not the least bit innovative. I wish that I wouldn't have wasted the money, as this didn't help at all. Any other book on core training is as good or better.
