About this ebook

The epic conclusion to USA Today bestseller David Dalglish's Seraphim Series.

What started as a small rebellion has grown to all-out war, with the four minor islands uniting under the call for independence. But Kael Skyborn no longer trusts the mysterious leader of their rebellion, nor his disciples. Neither side seems willing to reveal the truth of the elemental prisms the Seraphim wield in battle, or the blood that keeps the islands from crashing down to the ocean below.

Bree Skyborn is the Phoenix of Weshern and the face of the rebellion. But when Kael is captured and brought to Center for execution, Bree no longer cares about the war or the call for independence. All that matters is rescuing her brother and putting a stop to the violence for once and for all.

Both sides hold secrets that could be their undoing.

The final book in the series is fascinating, yet frustrating. Dalglish writes a fast-paced book with plenty of plot twists. Overall, the series world-building reflects a gifted imagination. Yet at times, the writing resembles a transcribed video game. It's repetitive and keeps upping the ante without the character development of the first book. The same physical descriptions of the effects of the elements on the user's body are used, but just adding on new discoveries at each level. Dalglish is a young enough writer that he could transcend these limitations (cf. Naomi Novik), perhaps through a writer's workshop or two. I hope he works on his craft. His imagination certainly demonstrates incredible potential. The series is certainly worth buying and reading.

Amazing book series, I've read his earlier work and thought "wow went get another series that good" but it seems like David always has a new world that amazes me and makes me craving for more.

Keep on writing David. I get so involved with your charachters and cried when Bree died. Karl and Clara story might be one to continue telling. Love your series! K
