About this ebook

International bestseller David Baldacci pens the stunning conclusion to Cahills vs. Vespers!

It started with a kidnapping. A shadowy organization known only as the Vespers snatched seven members of the Cahill family and demanded a series of bizarre ransoms from around the world. Thirteen-year-old Dan Cahill and his older sister, Amy, began a global treasure hunt, determined to bring back whatever Vesper One needed, so long as it kept the hostages safe. But when they deliver the last ransom, Amy and Dan discover Vesper One's terrifying endgame. The objects he demanded are vital pieces in a Vesper plot that will harm millions of innocent people. Now the two siblings and their friends are in an all-out sprint to stop Vesper One . . . before the whole world goes BOOM.

This was so disappointing. I love all the other books but this one was just so sloppily written that getting through it was like pulling teeth! There is at leats one awkward sentence per page and the way this author wrote the characters I'd grown to love was so shallow and two dimensional they were like stereotypes rather than actual people that I've known so far. Amy saying things like "You're good at helping." to Jake was so stupid! She likes Jake yes, but if this author had bothered to even read the previous books (more on that later) he would know that she'd never behave like she was missing a brain! Another thing- in this book, the depression that Amy was revealed to be slowly sinking into in the last story is gone within the first chapter and dismissed as her being a "wuss". Had this character arc been allowed to develop, it would have given the series that much more depth and yet it was thrown away with a crass excuse. Now onto how mr. author proved in the first paragraph(yes!!!!the very first!!!!) that he had not even read the previous novel! He describes that Dan is drinking the serum (which he says is green-red in color) from a goblet yet in the last page of the previous book he was drinking it from a vial (and it was amber in color!). Such a pathetic excuse for a series finale. I only got through it because I wanted to continue with the following books.
