About this ebook

Cossette Consistently Brings the Old Testament to Life in an Engrossing, Fresh New Way

Alanah, a Canaanite, is no stranger to fighting and survival. When her family is killed in battle with the Hebrews, she disguises herself and sneaks onto the battlefield to avenge her family. The one thing she never counted on was surviving.

Tobiah, a Hebrew warrior, is shocked to find an unconscious, wounded woman among the Canaanite casualties. Compelled to bring her to a Hebrew healer back at their camp, he is soon confronted with a truth he can't ignore: the only way to protect this enemy is to marry her.

Unused to being weak and vulnerable, Alanah submits to the marriage--for now. As she comes to know and respect Tobiah and his people, however, she begins to second-guess her plans of escape. But when her past has painfully unanticipated consequences, the tentative peace she's found with Tobiah, the Hebrews, and Yahweh is shaken to the core. Can Alanah's fierce heart and strength withstand the ensuing threats to her life and all she's come to love?

I have no words. I just felt like I was having several devotions when I read this book. Not just regular devotions but the ones where God speaks and shows himself greatly. All three books just brought me closer to God and improved my faith and walk with the Lord. Thank you for writing these amazing books. I want so much more. Why are there only three. I need Jumo's story and moriyah's story. I really love these books and am blessed and forever changed after reading them.

I always fall in love with the characters Connilyn Cossette brings to life. This was no different. She threaded a strange situation together with a well known Bible story I learned from youth and had chills when I heard the heroine sister's name. I couldn't stop thinking of what would happen next as I awaited the story resolution. A must if you are a fan of this series. I adore how Connilyn Cossette does not play into casual lustful details as other authors might, but acknowledges paths taken without divulging secret bonds of physical relationships. Always a fan!

This book was such a great way to end the series. She said the best for last. Readers will fall in love with Alanah and Tobiah. They understand each other in a way that builds each other up for the glory of God. Their life is an example of how God can use your experiences for his good. Their struggles in understanding each other faith was written very well. Neither made a rash decision to convert. Through observing, trusting and going out on faith we see the parallels with our own coming to know and have a relationship with God. Connilyn makes you really look at what a tremendous and amazing sight it was for God to walk with his people. You will finish the book with a thirst to understand the Israelites and their relationship with God. This book reminds you that there were human with normal failing and only because of God's grace we are here today. Go out and pick up this series. Form a book club and discuss this book. I received this book for being a part of the Launch Team. The opinions expressed are entirely me own

About the author

When she is not homeschooling her two sweet kids (with a full pot of coffee at hand), Connilyn Cossette is scribbling notes on spare paper, mumbling about her imaginary friends, and reading obscure, out-of-print history books. There is nothing she likes better than digging into the rich, ancient world of the Bible and uncovering buried gems of grace that point toward Jesus. Although a Pacific Northwest native, she now lives near Dallas, Texas. Connect with her at www.connilyncossette.com.
