This is the one that started it all for me! This is the one my friend let me read at school. I've known about comic hero's existing like batman or superman, but I've never actually read a comic until my friend laid this book down on the desk. Everything about this comic came alive before my eyes. The fantastic art, the amazing fold out cover, even the feel of the pages made it feel like a must read. This book made me an X-men fan from day one! Only to my disappointment realizing artists can come and go as they please because I think I was spoiled having the very talented Jim Lee sculpt the great characters of this saga. It isn't fair to the rest, and some are really great, but I'll always have that comparison when reading other books. As for the story, Chris Claremont is an awesome storyteller! Along with this story and The Dark Phoenix Saga, I always look forward to his work!
