The first two books were great, I'm 100 pages into this one and it's pretty much just Adare acting like a toddler the entire time. Wish I could refund, hope it gets better.

Great book but had some slow points. Great concept and cool new "platoon" of fighters/style. Probably not in my top 10 but definitely worth a read !

Great writing throughout, but left unsatisfied by the conclusion. A lot of questions went unanswered, and for such a strong series, it all wraps up, certainly not neatly, but way too swiftly. Love the series, but the very last note was a sour one.

BRIAN STAVELEY has taught literature, religion, history, and philosophy, and holds an MA in poetry from Boston University. His books, which have been translated into over a dozen languages, include The Empire's Ruin, The Emperor's Blades, The Providence of Fire, The Last Mortal Bond, and Skullsworn. He lives in Vermont and divides his time between running trails, splitting wood, writing, and chasing his son downhill on a mountain bike.
