About this ebook

An Elseworlds tale! In the year 2083, the legend of the Batman sparks a strange and deadly religion based on the Dark Knight. As the annual death race between the religion's leader and a group of sacrificial "lambs" surgically altered to resemble Batman's greatest foes approaches, one would-be Joker tries to break the cycle and become the true inheritor of the heroic mantle of the Bat.

This will probably be one of my favorites among the Elseworlds comics. There are a few typos and areas where the panels seem to be out of order... The kind of mistakes that you see in the late 90s comic that didn't get the kind of attention it should have. But the story is fantastic and the joker is a truly sympathetic character. By now seeing a joker's grin under a Batman cowl is cliche and overdone... but 20 years ago this was a bold move.

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. An amazing idea carried out to perfection, a shame they never thought to continue the story. So far anyone with a complaint that I've seen, clearly just does not get the point. It's a future story so you decide if it's a "what if". It doesn't change the past it's a different batman at a different time and if one is going to trash something one should have an intelligent argument otherwise don't write a review.

Not worth buying, but if you find it as a freebie give it a look. It's like forced feminism only with heroes and villains. Just like reality, the real monsters are the mobs of morons who are there for a show. Reminds me of the recent protesters.
