Fast paced and gripping, yet I am a little over the heavily damaged protagonists. I know, there is the character arch, but please, give me someone who actually overcomes some of the past trauma. Not each and every heroine can be troubled by flashbacks while on the job and not every law enforcement officer can have a relative murdered or missing. Neither do they wince on almost every page.

An OK story, but follows similar trajectory as other stories by this author. A past trauma haunting the main protagonist whilst trying to solve a current mystery. Gets rather predictable after a while.

I didn't think I would fall in love with this book be honest. I preferred to read hard cover books but its so convenient to have it on my phone. I was debating on downloading this book and I'm so glad I did. I couldn't put it down every page I read I had to find out what happened next I couldn't stop. I stopped myself at chapter 5 a few weeks ago but today as I waited at work for my client to show up I started reading again and I couldn't stop. I was reading in between working and finishing the entire book. I can't wait to read the next one
