CRIME (AND LAGER) is book three in a charming new cozy mystery series by #1 bestselling author Blake Pierce, whose Once Gone has over 1,500 five-star reviews. The series begins with MURDER (AND BAKLAVA)—BOOK #1.

When London Rose, 33, is proposed to by her long-time boyfriend, she realizes she is facing a stable, predictable, pre-determined (and passionless) life. She freaks out and runs the other way—accepting instead a job across the Atlantic, as a tour-guide on a high-end European cruise line that travels through a country a day. London is searching for a more romantic, unscripted and exciting life that she feels sure exists out there somewhere.

London is elated: the European river towns are small, historic and charming. She gets to see a new port every night, gets to sample an endless array of new cuisine and meet a stream of interesting people. It is a traveler’s dream, and it is anything but predictable.

In Book 3, CRIME (AND LAGER), the cruise takes them into Germany, into its historic towns and fabled beer festivals. But when a festival goer—a loud, arrogant local—turns up dead from drinking too much beer, suspicion falls on the touring passengers. The death is quickly ruled a murder, and London realizes her future—and that of the ship—hinges on her solving the crime.

Laugh-out-loud funny, romantic, endearing, rife with new sights, culture and food, CRIME (AND LAGER) offers a fun and suspenseful trip through the heart of Europe, anchored in an intriguing mystery that will keep you on the edge of your seat and guessing until the very last page.

A fun series with a unique storyline that stays fresh . Well fleshed out characters and a mystery that is meticulously plotted. I learn something new about the country each book in the series focuses on. London is looking forward to visiting Bavaria but Emil is acting strangely and there's a cranky cruise guest to deal with. Then London discovers the body of an obnoxious food critic in a vat of beer. She falls under suspicion and is determined to find the murderer before she ends up arrested. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A more than enjoyable story! What I liked about the book: 1. The author is a master storyteller. It is almost impossible to put the book down once you begin reading it. 2. The characters are wonderful and likeable (even the sour pusses are not offensive and play their part well.). 3. The history and scenery descriptions of the cruise destinations are amazing/interesting. 4. It’s a full stand-alone whodunit that is also part of a series. 5. The mystery surrounding both the owner of the cruise line and London’s mother are both intriguing. Each book in the series gives a little more insight into both of these characters and I find myself wondering where the author is going with their stories after I have finished reading the current story. 6. It is a clean read. 7. You don’t have to wait six months to a year between book releases in the series. What I did not like about the book: 1. N/A. I found nothing I did not like about the book. I received a free copy of this book from the author via BookSirens and am voluntarily leaving a review. This gift did not affect my review of the book. This review is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Crime (and Lager) is the third book in the European Voyage Cozy Mystery series and is a fun-filled adventure. I love the vivid descriptions in this book that make you feel like you are on the cruise line with London. The story has great characters, some more likable than others, murder, mystery, drama, and suspense. A true whodunnit! I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.
