About this ebook

Benjamin Netanyahu is currently serving his fourth term in office as Prime Minister of Israel, the longest serving Prime Minister in the country’s history. Now Israeli journalist Ben Caspit puts Netanyahu’s life under a magnifying glass, focusing on his last two terms in office.

"A biography of the steely Israeli prime minister that underscores his relentless, seemingly emotionless competitive drive ... A highly readable portrait of an enigmatic politician." - Kirkus Reviews

Caspit covers a wide swath of topics, including Netanyahu’s policies, his political struggles, and his fight against the Iranian nuclear program, and zeroes in on Netanyahu’s love/hate relationship with the American administration, America’s Jews, and his alliances with American business magnates.

A timely and important book, The Netanyahu Years is a primer for anyone looking to understand this world leader.

Save your money. Invest instead in Neill Lochery's "The Resistable Rise of Benjamin Netanyahu" and/or Anshel Pfeiffer's "Bibi". They meet the high professional standards expected of proper biographies. Both Lochery's and Pfeffer's books are careful weavings of graceful writing well supported by a wide variety of quality evidence. Ben Caspit's attempt (translated by Ora Cummings) is simply unacceptable, for three reasons. First, his text has no "Notes" or "Sources" section, no way to fact-check his assertions. Second, he presents as "truth" information that neither he nor others would be privy to. A scene has Sara saying "Good night, Mr. Prime Minister" as Bibi is falling asleep toward dawn. I seriously doubt that there were three in the Netanyahu marital bed, but of course, this can't be verified by a proper source. Third, Caspit's tone couldn't be more biased to extreme left. The book reads like an excruciatingly long Op-Ed. Or a mass market tabloid tome. Just say no.
