About this ebook

Olga Lengyel tells, frankly and without compromise, one of the most horrifying stories of all time. This true, documented chronicle is the intimate, day-to-day record of a beautiful woman who survived the nightmare of Auschwitz and Birkenau. This book is a necessary reminder of one of the ugliest chapters in the history of human civilization. It was a shocking experience. It is a shocking book.

“... Thank you for your very frank, very well written book. You have done a real service by letting the ones who are now silent and most forgotten speak ...With best regards and wishes, — A. Einstein.”

“This book is a horrifying, but necessary, reminder of one of the ugliest chapters in the history of human civilisation. Passionate, tormenting’”—New York Herald-Tribune

“It is a picture of utter hell”—Saturday Review of Literature

An eye opening read of life behind the wire of Auschwitz-Birkenau. You will read accounts of the daily hardship and suffering of the women that were surviving on next to nothing, they had constant fear of being sent to Josef Mengele to be subjected to Medical experiments, or the gas chambers followed by the crematorium ovens. Just before the camp was liberated by the Russian army, the remaining women was forced on the death march during the freezing cold months, just wearing rags that barely gave them warmth.

I have never read a book as emotionally moving as this. There are not enough words to describe how brave the people were in the concentration camps. I can't believe this happened only a short while ago in history. Thank you for writing your book Olga. I'm 27 and always have this part of dark unimaginable history in the back of my mind.. your story will never leave my memory.

This is one of the best books I've ever read. So painful to read but I'm glad I did. It's our duty to understand the absolute hell these poor prisoners went through. I'm deeply humbled and moved, but ashamed of how evil our species can be. For the sake of those who suffered.... please read this book.
